Advocacy

To be at the forefront and influence the conceptualisation of the global NCD dialogue, to ultimately increase the political and financial commitments towards diabetes and other NCDs in LMICs

We aim to make diabetes and related NCDs a global health priority and promote health equity. Our advocacy efforts focus on raising awareness, setting ambitious goals, building coalitions, and securing the commitment of all stakeholders necessary to address these issues.

Drawing on our experience with WDF-supported projects, we demonstrate that effective and cost-efficient solutions are available to tackle the burden of diabetes and related NCDs.

We encourage collaboration around WDF’s access to care and primary prevention goals.

We advocate for key approaches, including strengthening health systems, promoting integrated, people-centred care, using digital health solutions strategically, taking a life course approach, and implementing multilevel interventions.

Through strong partnerships with key stakeholders, we highlight the importance of NCD prevention and control in global, regional, and national health agendas. We aim to promote health equity and stimulate more significant political and financial commitments to address diabetes and related NCDs in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), contributing to establishing universal health coverage (UHC).

In collaboration with our partners, we aim to leverage synergies and impact local, national, regional, and global alliances. We engage with networks and forums to influence policy agendas and mobilise stakeholders. Importantly, we work with organisations that share our vision, incorporating the perspectives of those with lived experiences, often represented through civil society and patient associations.
